About This Deal
Field Trip Fridays is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching homeschool education by partnering with local businesses, museums, farms, and community organizations. Their mission is to create accessible, experiential learning opportunities for all children, ensuring economic circumstances never limit a child's access to real-world education. They envision homeschooled children exploring beyond traditional classroom boundaries and discovering their passions through real-world interactions with community experts.
To participate in field trips, families must become a Field Trip Member. Membership dues are $5 per month, or a family can pay a one-time fee that covers them through May. Membership fees support the organization's operations, with the largest portion going to the Field Trip Scholarship Fund, which helps subsidize field trip costs for families experiencing financial hardship.
Families can join the free Facebook group for their closest location-Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio-to view upcoming field trips listed in the Events tab. To register for a trip, members must select a trip on the Field Trip Sign Up page, note the registration opening date/time, and act quickly, as spots fill up fast.
The field trips are offered at various price points to accommodate all budgets, including free trips and others that cost between $5 to $15 per person, with a few ranging up to about $80 per person. Example trips include visiting a working farm, a museum exhibition, a pizza-making workshop, and private tours of iconic Texas landmarks.
