About This Deal

Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm is a seasonal operation owned by Chris and Kylie Demases, with Chris being a fourth-generation farmer. The farm is located in Pilot Point, TX, on land that has been in Kylie's grandmother's family for over 100 years. The farm's roots are deep in tradition and family values. Chris decided to branch out in 2015 to focus on strawberries after seeing the customer demand to pick their own.

Regarding growing methods, the farm is not a certified organic farm, although it implements many organic growing practices. For fertilizer, they use a conventional liquid plant food along with an organic seaweed that is pumped through a drip line irrigation system directly to the roots. The plant food used is a 20/20/20, or "Triple 20", based product.

When pest or fungus issues arise, the farm first attempts to control them with organic methods. If conditions warrant, they will use conventional pesticides sparingly to maintain the integrity of the field.
