About This Deal
Lake Houston Wilderness Park provides archery as a valuable activity for homeschoolers, promoting physical and mental growth through strengthening core and upper body muscles, and enhancing self-confidence by achieving personal goals. It also offers social opportunities to interact with diverse groups and practice sportsmanship.
The park, a 5,000-acre forested area near New Caney, features over 20 miles of trails and various outdoor experiences, including camping, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, birding, and fishing. It is notable for allowing overnight stays in cabins and campsites.
Beyond archery, Lake Houston Wilderness Park offers numerous homeschool programs such as Amazing Alligators, Basic Fishing, Bat walks, Birding for Beginners, Campfire Skills, Edible Plant Hikes, and programs on Freshwater Ecology, Insects, Reptiles, and Orienteering. These programs are designed for various ages and often include live animal encounters or hands-on learning.
